About Philly Main Line

Philly Main Line lists family events and things to do with kids on the Main Line, from Bala Cynwyd and Narberth out to Paoli and Malvern: library programs, nature walks, festivals, performances and seasonal events in Lower Merion, Narberth, Haverford, Radnor, Tredyffrin, Easttown and Willistown, and a few regional draws nearby, such as Valley Forge.

What the site publishes

A new edition comes out every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning. Each one lists the family events in the days ahead, grouped by day, with the time, the place, the ages and the cost, and a link to the organizer’s page. The Monday edition covers Monday to Thursday, the Wednesday edition Wednesday to Sunday, and the Friday edition the weekend. Every event in the three newest editions is also in a calendar feed, at calendar.ics, that calendar apps can subscribe to. Each event also has its own calendar file for Apple Calendar or Outlook, and a Google Calendar link. The heart on an event saves it to My plan, a list by day that stays in your browser until you remove it.

Weekly library programs, such as story times, stay out of the editions. The guides list them.

Guides are reference pages that stay up and get checked again when the facts they cover change. Each guide shows the date its facts were last checked.

How events get in

Every event comes from the organizer’s own page or calendar, which was checked when the edition was written. Each event links to that page. Times, prices and registration rules change, so check the organizer’s page before you go.

How the site is paid for

Philly Main Line takes no payment to list an event, sells no leads and accepts no paid placements. See For local businesses.
